ModCloth pattern library
For a long time, ModCloth’s Interaction Design team was just one or two designers working as fast as we could. We didn’t have the immediate need to create design standards and implement a patterns library -- we could just lean over and talk to each other. That changed however when ModCloth's design team rapidly scaled up to 9 Interaction Designers.
My Role
- Design Lead. I audited and identified existing patterns, and assigned design and documentation of those patterns to a team of designers
- Documented patterns such as tooltips, pagination, modal windows, breadcrumbs, grid system, and more
Project Goals
- Ensure consistency across the website by creating a library of reusable interface components
- Document the rationale and appropriate use
